a copy of her brandspanking-new book,

the Blueshawk that Patrice Pike gave me!"
This was truly serendipitous as she had just opened
the box of books that arrived that afternoon and
hadn't known which of her photos they had chosen
for the cover. Add to that, Cole and I just happened
to be playing at Schreiner University for Kathleen's
book signing. How sweet!
I dig the book. Much like her previous "Telling Stories,
Writing Songs: An Album of Texas Songwriters", each
chapter in "Women in Texas Music" covers an artist
and the stories weave together like a nice conversation.

Broadcast of this Summer’s Folkest with
Ginger Leigh Band and Carolyn Wonderland Band
This October our friends in Slovenia can see the
national telecast of the Ginger Leigh and
Carolyn Wonderland concert in Koper
from this summer's Folkest festival in Italy and Slovenia. Ginger, Carolyn, Cole El-Saleh, and Eldridge Goins toured Europe together as both the
Ginger Leigh Band and Carolyn Wonderland Band
(the only US bands invited to perform at Folkest 2007)!

We had so much fun this summer with
Ginger, we'll be reforming the little big
band regularly in the future!

WonderJam in Amsterdam 2007!
Well, the tickets have all been sold, bags are packed
...it's time to bring all our friends we can on our pilgrimage to Amsterdam!
Nov 5th - 12th, 2007 marks the 5th annual
WonderJam in Amsterdam! This year we take over
the Maloe Melo Bluescafe with D. Brown Fisher,
Speedy Sparks, LeeAnn Atherton and Zeegrass,
and the Carolyn Wonderland Band! Thanks to
Darren, ColorWarp, and WonderJam in Amsterdam
for making my birthday wishes come true for 5 years!
